Kerrie Ollenburger
Director of Family Ministries
Wordie: [wur-dee] n. a lover of words
I love words! I love reading, writing (using a fun font), talking (of course), and according to my family, I’ve never met a sign or a t-shirt with a meaningful saying on it that I didn’t like. You’ll also notice I like to use parentheses (a lot!). Things I love even more than words (and parentheses): Jeff, my husband of over a quarter of a century, and my children—Katie, Kobe (her husband), Lauren, and Brady. |
Jeff is the Senior Vice President at Underground Vaults and Storage. Katie and Kobe have started their careers and live here in Hutchinson, Lauren works in marketing in Kansas City, and Brady attends Hutchinson High School.
Some other things I think are cool: eating at fun restaurants or enjoying food my husband makes, watching a good Netflix series, planning a fun event, the beach, traveling, and taking W-A-L-K-S with our dogs, Kona and Kali (shhhh… we don’t want them to hear the w-word and get too excited).
I serve as Trinity’s full-time Director of Family Ministries, managing the church's children, youth, college and young adult programs. I also supervise two part-time staff members and oversee numerous volunteers involved with those programs.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Bethany College in 1994 and taught Middle and High School Special Education for 6 years. Jeff and I joined Trinity in 1995 and soon became volunteers in the youth ministry program. When I applied for the job of “Youth Director” at Trinity in 2003, I had no idea what a Youth Director was and there are some days when I’m still not sure.
I feel God has given me the mission to help students develop healthy relationships with Jesus, caring adults, and each other. I also want them to know that church is an awesome place to be where a lot of imperfect people love them exactly as they are. In turn, I hope they will develop a heart for loving and serving others.
Our Trinity family is so important to my own family and I am forever grateful for the faithful generations of Trinity people who have gone before us. I would love to help you find a place in our Trinity family as well!
