This program serves local schools and provides crisis intervention, social and emotional support, behavior intervention, academic support, and family support. The program provides mentors and tutors and meets a student's immediate needs (clothing, lunch funds, food, hygiene items, etc.). Projects include: Future Finance Now, Changing the Atmosphere, Community Service Dates, and the Salthawk Angel Project at Christmas, just to name a few.

Support Salthawk Community Support by volunteering as a Mentor or After School Tutor.
Not a lot of time is required, but you will make a huge difference in the lives of these students. You will receive free training provided by Rise Up Reno that will prepare you for the experience. The time you invest in a young person’s life will never be wasted. This ministry is supported by local churches, civic organizations, and generous individuals.

This is a ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church with these churches: First Mennonite, First Presbyterian, Grace Episcopal, Heartland Credit Union, Journey Mennonite, New Covenant Presbyterian, and Park Place Christian. Participating organizations include: Hutchinson Community Ministries, Hutchinson High School and Middle School 8, Soroptimist International of Hutchinson, State Farm (Cris Corey, Agent), USD 308 and more.

Meet Our Staff
Janice Turner, Katie Brown, Julie Magyar and Kylie Campbell
Janice Turner is one of our Coordinators of "The Closet" at Hutchinson High School.
Katie Brown serves as our Volunteer Coordinator, overseeing the training and management of our community volunteers.
Julie Magyar is the other Coordinator of "The Closet" at Hutchinson High School.
Kylie Campbell is the Site Coordinator at Hutchinson Middle School 8.
Together, these women are an effective and caring team, dedicated to helping struggling students in our community succeed.
